Festive Activities

The Dazzling Holiday Light Celebration on Fourth Street in Berkeley kicks off the holiday season in style, illuminating three blocks with sparkling lights and festive cheer. As the sun begins to set, the lights will come on, and Fourth Street will fill with family-friendly activities.

  • Live Entertainment – Enjoy enchanting performances by local musicians, a life-sized snow wolf puppet, a sparkling snow fairy on stilts, and an LED-covered roller-skating elf.
  • Seasonal Treats – Warm up with complimentary treats, including Peet’s Coffee, hot cider, Mexican hot chocolate, and cookies, as you take in the dazzling lights.
  • Kid-Friendly Crafts – Let your little ones unleash their creativity with an exciting art project where they can build their own train using art tape! This hands-on activity is a fun way for families to craft a holiday keepsake during the celebration.

Visitors will be able to enjoy the Fourth Street Christmas lights nightly until February 2027.

Enjoy More Holiday Festivities Under the Christmas Lights on Fourth Street

The holiday fun continues on Fourth Street with a series of festive events under the dazzling lights. Whether you're looking to shop, join creative workshops, or go caroling, there are numerous ways to enjoy the magical atmosphere of holiday lights.

  • Santa’s Mailbox - Kids can write their letters to Santa and drop them in the big red mailbox outside Peet’s Coffee (1776 Fourth Street) to receive a letter back from Santa’s elves.
  • Shops Open Late - In December, participating stores will stay open late, giving you extra time to find the perfect holiday gifts.

Holiday Crafting Like Never Before | December 12, 2026

From 1 PM to 4 PM on December 12, bring the kiddos to Fourth Street for arts and crafts fun. The 2026 lineup of experiences includes:

  • Wreath making
  • Glass ornament decorating
  • Glitter pinecone making
  • Snowflake making
  • Charm designing

The event will also feature photo opportunities with Santa Claus and his elves, but be on the lookout for the Grinch, who is set to make an appearance.
