Berkeley Playhouse

Berkeley Playhouse brings Broadway musicals to one of Berkeley's most remarkable buildings. Our home, the historic Julia Morgan Theater at College Avenue and Derby Street, was designed in 1910 by Julia Morgan, the architect of Hearst Castle, as St. John's Presbyterian Church. Today its 328 seats make it one of the most intimate places in the Bay Area to see a full-scale musical, with every audience member close to the action.
