Casa do Petisco was born from the dream of Barbara Nogueira, a proud brasileira from Maceió, Alagoas, who made her way to Berkeley, California. With over seven years of experience in the restaurant and hospitality industry, Barbara combined her deep love for Brazilian cuisine with a vision: to share the comfort, warmth, and bold flavors of Brazil’s beloved lanchonetes—casual eateries known for their irresistible snacks and community spirit—with her new home in the East Bay.
Our journey began on July 1, 2024, inside the Berkeley Organic Market, located in the heart of the Elmwood District. Casa do Petisco quickly became a cozy neighborhood favorite, serving up iconic small plates like Pastéis de Forno, Coxinha, and more—each dish crafted with care, tradition, and organic ingredients whenever possible.
Casa do Petisco is now a fully-stocked Brazilian Market in the East Bay which hosts monthly events, watch parties, and live music. We love creating community.
