Battle of the Green Day Cover Bands

On May 28th, Gilman will be holding a benefit show to raise money for the venue.

May 28th marks the day Green Day first played Gilman, Operation Ivy's last show. In honoring 40 years of Gilman we are throwing unique community driven benefits, due to the overwhelming cover bands asking to play, we said what the hey and let's give it a shot.

The bands that apply must understand that this is volunteer, and a benefit show for Gilman. First round will be via submissions, that will have an eliminatory process by Gilman volunteers.Those proceeding will be contacted. (Please be unique, if you do a different versions like ska, hardcore, opera, etc. Even better. Deep cuts and not doing the popular ones are a benefit in standing out. Trilogy? Father Of All?)

Day of show: You will be given 3 songs at random to perform. (Based on your submission list, be sure you can play deep cuts. "I wish Green Day would play this live!") No change overs longer than 10 minutes, keep to the backline. Judging will be based on the crowd and donation buckets, the bands with the most money raised will be elected winners.
