Celebrated for its uncanny ensemble chemistry and profound interpretive insight, this season the Danish String Quartet plays a blend of cherished masterpieces and contemporary chamber works: Berkeley native Gabriella Smith’s dynamic Carrot Revolution; Shostakovich’s fourteenth quartet, which centers the cello as soloist; and Beethoven’s dramatic, moving late-period Opus 131 quartet.
