Ghosts, ghouls, and good old-fashioned fun are creeping back into Downtown Berkeley! The 6th Annual Halloween Hootenanny takes over MLK Jr. Civic Center Park on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM, right alongside the Berkeley Farmers’ Market.
This year’s Hootenanny promises a spellbinding afternoon where hay bales line the walkways, music fills the autumn air, and families gather for a day of spooky celebration and community spirit.
Hootenanny Highlights:
• Live Music: The hauntingly good rock stylings of local legends Portable Madness.
• Eerie Entertainment: Fortune telling, balloons, dancing, and hay bales galore.
• Family Fun: Face painting and crafts for kids of all ages.
• Tasty Treats: Local food vendors plus the bounty of the Farmers’ Market.
• Dress to Thrill: Costumes encouraged—whether you’re a creepy crawler, a midnight cowboy, or a pumpkin-headed trickster!
“This has become one of our most beloved traditions,” said John Caner, CEO of the Downtown Berkeley Association. “The Hootenanny brings families, students, and neighbors together for free, frightfully fun festivities in the heart of Downtown.”
