Downtown Berkeley is the city's vibrant urban hub, where arts, dining, shopping, and lodging are in great supply. There's also an abundance of things to do, both downtown and on the UC Berkeley Campus across the street. Downtown is also home to Berkeley's Visitor Information Center, open Monday to Friday to serve travelers with information and materials.
The Downtown Arts District is a highlight-reel hub with the Berkeley Art Museum & Pacific Film Archive, Berkeley Repertory Theatre, Aurora Theater Company, California Jazz Conservatory, Freight & Salvage Coffeehouse, and the UC Theatre. And just a few blocks away stands Zellerbach Hall, the home venue for Cal Performances, on the University of California campus.
